This hotel was original an 18th century country manor house. It is situated in 5 acres of mature gardens and woodland. It is licenced for weddings and has several function rooms. It was built in 1745 by the Ashton Family and you can still see their name on the front door. In 1902 Mr J Ainscoughs of H&R Ainscoughs Ltd acquired the hall and made modifications and additions. While the Ainscoughs lived there Briars Hall became a highly successful stud farm for Shire Horses and won many accolades. On 12th February 1970 the hall opened its doors to guests and became Briars Hall Hotel.
